[SOLVED]double config.ini files

Postby fr0sty » Mon Apr 23, 2012 12:19 pm

At boot my sickbeard reads an empty config.ini located here:
/home/xbmc/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard/config.ini
Then i have to manually restart sickbeard before it reads the config with all my settings and that one is located here:
/home/xbmc/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard/config.ini

So restarting sickbeard causes it to use a different config file, anyone know how to fix this?

I used the installation guide here http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfect-m ... serviio-p3

So for the autostart i copied init.ubuntu file to /etc/init.d/sickbeard, and setup the APP_PATH to /home/xbmc/.sickbeard/

To restart it , i use the web interface.

If i look at the directories, it seems like the install made a double config directory.
:~/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard
and
:~/.sickbeard/~/.sickbeard/
have same file contents, with different configs.

In the file /etc/init.d/sickbeard i changed the line
DATA_DIR=~/.sickbeard
to
DATA_DIR=/home/xbmc/.sickbeard
that seemed to fix my strange problem :)

Think it's the only corect way to fix it.

Just out of curiosity.

On which flavor linux/ xbmc combo are you running SickBeard?
What happens if the xbmc user in terminal does

Code: Select all
echo ~
sudo sh -c 'echo ~'

Normally ~ expands to homefolder
Only when home doesn't exist, then ~ is returned.

Using Ubuntu 11.10 and XBMC Eden

Output:

Code: Select all
xbmc@xbmc:~$ echo ~
/home/xbmc
xbmc@xbmc:~$ sudo sh -c 'echo ~'
[sudo] password for xbmc:
/home/xbmc
