[SOLVED] Subitles Download

Postby DisasteR » Sun Oct 17, 2010 11:52 am

Hi,

did you think it can be possible to implement periscope as a subtitle searcher inside Sabnzbd ?

I imagine somthing like a button near each item in the download history to call Sabnzbd to search the subtitle using periscope.
possibility to define specified parameters to periscope in the configration page like a box for seting personal options of subtitles search
(-l fr -l en)

Regards,

P.S. I apologize for my english if i made too much mistakes.

Check http://code.google.com/p/sickbeard/issues/detail?id=286 for a discussion on this topic. Yes periscope can (and eventually will) be used, and you can try rob's fork to test it out if you want.

thanks for the link.

i'm not sure but rob's fork does not look really up to date :/ no ?

and as i see you have planned to add the feature in a futur release :)
maybe with the possibility to choice different languages for the subtitles.

ex:
i want english and french subtitles
french ones as first priority.
if the french subtitle is not found downloading the english one
and a backlog search for downloading the french.

when the french is found 2 options
replacing the english one
or keep the two and add -fr, -en to the two files to identify them.

Did you think it could be possible ?
And if you decide to made it have you some idea of when ?

Regards :)

I have no idea when, nope. You can just fork rob's fork and then pull from my repo to keep it up to date if he has stopped maintaining it (as long as you can resolve any conflicts).

just create an extra_script with the following script located in your sick beard folder:

Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
echo Filename to process. $1
echo Original filename... $2
echo Show TVDB id........ $3
echo Season number....... $4
echo Episode number...... $5
echo Episode air date.... $6
echo ... will now pass the search info to periscope to snatch a subtitle
/path/to/periscope/bin/periscope "$1" -l xx -l xx --force

it will run after each download on the specific episode and add subs if found.

Can you please explain what you mean by this?
Is it right that when I only make this "searchSubs.sh" file and place it in my SickBeard folder. Is that really all I have to do?
Is it correct when I edit the last line in the script to:
Code: Select all
/volume1/@appdata//periscope/periscope "$1" -l nl -l en --force

and change the xx in the last line to my preferred languages.

Hope you can help me out ;)

Indeed, this is just a wrapper-script to pick up the parameters which Sick Beard delivers using the extra_scripts parameter in the config.ini file.

Then the full path/filename of the downloaded episode is passed to Periscope. Just change the xx to your preferred subtitle language (the first one is your most preferred, the second one is your fallback language).

Thus:

1. Install / configure periscope
2. create the wrapper script
3. put the wrapper script in the Sick Beard folder
4. add the wrapper script to the config.ini file of Sick Beard (when SB is not running, otherwise the changes will be overwritten)

success.
