[BUG?] SB not finding episodes, which are available manually

Hi there,

I have added a new show yesterday "No Ordinary Family", set initial download to WEB-DL and let the SB do the magic
I've set search providers to nzbmatrix first then nzb.su.

Few moments later I see that episodes s01e01 and s01e05-20 are im queue but episode 2,3 and 4 are missing.
So I went to history to see what has been found. First what stroke me that there is episode 1 on nazbmatrix but mine was downloaded from nzb.su

then I started search for missing episodes and they are available on nzbmatrix. I tried even Manual Search but for some reason they aren't being found.
I'm not sure if it's bug or not but I thought I would share this with you.

Please post the DEBUG log of where it searches for the episodes.
And please advise what .nzb-files you think it should find

I'm having a similar problem with quite a few shows.

Let's take an easy one. Sid the Science Kid.

If you go to NZBMatrix and search for Sid, you can find the episode titled 'Getting A Shot You Can Do It', but Sickbeard will not find it.

Sickbeard is searching for this URL:

That returns a no result in the RSS feeds.

Now, if I tweak it to this:

Notice I changed the first search term to 'E141' instead of 'S01E41'.

Now, I know that this is simply the way it's being indexed vs. the way sickbeard is searching for it. However, I've run across a few shows that have had problems. How can this be fixed?

Good Eats is another one.

On NZB Matrix, some of the episodes are marked as S14E20, some are marked 1420. For the ones that are squished, SB just says 'Fuck it, I can't find that!'

This is just stupid/wrong naming , that is why SB does not find them ... it is not a BUG.
People should tag there stuff better

Yes, I understand that but you're never going to get everyone to decide on a standardized naming scheme.

IMO, SickBeard should be more flexible in it's searching to prevent things like this. Otherwise, what's the point of SickBeard.

SickBeard exists to make downloading items posted on Newsgroups easy and organized. Usenet doesn't exist to feed things to SickBeard.

Well maybe if you ask nicely .. instead of complaining .... who knows some one will try to solve this.
Or maybe you can try to solve it yourself .. as SB is open source so all people can help making it better

SB is developed to download scene releases , and scene releases are most of the time named correct .. as otherwise their stuff gets nuked.
This is discussed before , so maybe a search on the forum can tell you more

Yeah ridiculous naming like this can never be supported, it is impossible to do properly (or at least I don't have the motivation to try). SB can never be 100% successful, if that makes it pointless for you to use then feel free to stop using it.
