The commands do not seem to work when I run cmd, after installing cheetah python etc

And when I try to open sickbeard.py using python.exe nothing happens.

Can you please help me?

What do you mean by "nothing happens"? Do you get an error message?
If you don't get any error message then it is probably running fine. To access SickBeard you have to (leaving the cmd window open) open a web browser window and go to:
http://localhost:8081

Try running it with pythonw.exe instead of python.exe to avoid having to leave the cmd window open.

if http://localhost:8081 doesn't work, it could be that the port is being used(my anti-virus was using that one for me). You'll have to open config.ini and manually change 'web_port' to something else.

Thank you for this great guide. I've been using SB for many years with SAB, but this is my first attempt at a torrent setup.
Most everything seems to be working just fine with Deluge. The only problem seems to be with version check / update; I get this banner on top of the web page:

Unknown current version number: If you've never used the Sick Beard upgrade system before then current version is not set.— Update Now

Image

I tried clicking on Update Now several times, but it consistently fails - log:

2014-02-16 09:34:22 CP Server Thread-3 :: Error while trying to update: expected a character buffer object

I'm using Win 7 x64, Python 2.7.6 x64, Cheetah 2.4.4, SB-TPB from ZIP file (https://github.com/mr-orange/Sick-Beard).

I have a parallel SB vanilla install, but it's using a different port.

No matter what I do I can't get rid of the window. I pointed the sickbeard.py to the python.exe and not he pythonw.exe too.

*edit* reinstalled python and it works.

When I get step 4 under the Cheetah portion (4.) Type: cd c:/cheetah -- press Enter, then type in: python setup.py install), it says:

python: can't open file 'setup.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

Anyone have any idea?

I too am having the same problem, no post-processing appears to be working at all....shows are not moved or re-named after downloaded, they are simply left in the c:\users\xxxxx\Downloads directory. I've also been scouring the forums for days looking for a solution but am unable to find one.

Ch1lly, jaquesstrap I think I finally found what was the problem in my set up.

In Settings -> Post-Processing -> TV Download dir I had put my sorted TV show path instead of the path where the torrent client saves finished files, plus (if not using SABnzbd+) Scan and Process has to be Checked.

Restarted SB and it seems to be working fine now.

Ive come up against this same issue - Post processing is just not working.

My downloads are downloaded to c:\INCOMING .. then moved to c:\COMPLETED

Sickbeard post processing is setup to watch c:\COMPLETED .. scan & process is selected (tried without selected as well)

It just doesnt work ... Manual post processing works fine .. its like the link is broken b/w utorrent finishing and sickbeard

Any suggestions?

try putting
setup.py install
instead of
python setup.py install

That worked for me

The download link in the initial post of the thread is 404-ing

https://github.com/mr-orange/Sick-Beard

Any chance you could update the link?

Hey there,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I can't find any more relative spots...

I am new to all of this and I have set up a NAS4FREE box and have started to install SickBeard by following the guide located here:
http://geekfreely.blogspot.nl/2014/03/s ... rd-on.html

I get as far as testing my SickBeard install and then get the error "The Python module Cheetah is required".

I have no idea why this is happening, because I used the "pkg_add -rv py27-cheetah" command before even downloading SickBeard. Python and Cheetah should both be installed and working.

If I am doing something stupid, please don't be afraid to point it out, but I am at my whit's end.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Cheers
Dunstan

Is there really no install package for SickRage on Windows?
