Posting Rules - DON'T POST A BUG WITHOUT A DEBUG LOG

Postby rascalli » Sat Jan 08, 2011 5:11 pm

Post it in the right forum!
Do not post problem or bug reports in General! Read the forum description before you start a topic.

Bug Reports
POST A DEBUG LOG!
Bug reports without a log are not very helpful. Before you post a new thread about a bug be sure to check google code (http://code.google.com/p/sickbeard/issues/list) to see if somebody has already posted about it. Posting bugs on the forums can be good for discussion but if you want to make sure it gets fixed make sure you put it on google code.

Always post a DEBUG log, post the log on pastebin & link us to it.
(Only post the part that has to do with the error)

You can find this :

* Go to your install folder & grab the sickbeard.log
* Go to : errorlogs/viewlog & change the loglevel from INFO to DEBUG

Censoring content
If you post a log be sure to use notepad search/replace to remove any provider login details (id/hash). You do not need to worry about censoring show names.

Feature Requests
The forum is not a good place to post a feature request. It will get lost and the developers will forget about it. The correct place for feature requests is on google code: http://code.google.com/p/sickbeard/issues/list. If you are still going to post a thread here, at least make sure that there isn't already a ticket on google code... if you post a duplicate it will probably just be deleted.
